The Nebraska Baseball team is back on the diamond this afternoon as they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes for a doubleheader. After losing the opening game of the series, the Huskers need to take at least one of two games this afternoon to keep pace in league play.
Kyle Kubat will get the start for the Huskers. Kubat pitched into extra innings last weekend against Ohio State but took the loss. Kubat will look to get offensive support from the Nebraska offense. Outside of Ben Miller, the offense has been sluggish in recent weeks as they struggle with two out hitting, and have left the bases loaded too often.
Iowa is scheduled to start Calvin Mathews, a hard throwing right hander who the Huskers saw last year. The Huskers have struggled at times hitting hard throwing pitchers. Nebraska will counter Mathews with seven left handed batters in the lineup.
