Gamethread: Nebraska Baseball vs Ohio State, Game 1

Nebraska opens a three game set with the Buckeyes looking to make up ground in the BIG standings

The 23rd ranked Nebraska Baseball team opens a three game series against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday afternoon. Nebraska will try to make up ground in the BIG standings, as the Huskers are currently in sixth place. The top eight teams qualify for the BIG tournament in Minneapolis next month.

Chance Sinclair is scheduled to get the ball for the Huskers. Sinclair pitched well last weekend but took the loss against Minnesota as the Nebraska offense went quiet. Sinclair will need to work ahead of Ohio State batters. Sinclair has previously faced Ohio State twice. He gave up five runs in the BIG tournament, but also threw a complete game against the Buckeyes at home.

Tanner Tully will oppose Sinclair. Tully opposed Sinclair in both games last year, and ended with two no decisions. Tully gave up 4 earned runs in 14.1 innings pitched against Nebraska, good for a 2.51 earned run average. Tully will test the Husker bats, as he excels against left handed bats.

Nebraska will counter with five right handed batters in the lineup. The lineup as presented by Darin Erstad,
