Gamethread: Nebraska Baseball vs UNO

Austin Christensen gets his first start of the year

The 23rd ranked Nebraska Baseball team will get back on the diamond tonight as they host the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks in the second of their two game season series. Nebraska used a Scott Schreiber extra innings home run to defeat the Mavericks in Omaha two weeks ago.

Nebraska will send junior lefty Austin Christensen to the mound for his first start of the year. Christensen last got a start in the NCAA tournament against Binghamton. Christensen pitched 3.1 innings in that game giving up three earned runs. Christensen will look to attack the Maverick hitters as they are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

Nebraska overcame numerous mental mistakes last night to win. A clean game will be key for the Huskers to put away the Mavericks early and so that they will be able to rest the bullpen. The Mavericks have yet to name a starter for the contest.
