Lawrence Phillips Brings More Sadness To the World

RVR Photos-USA TODAY Sports

Today Husker nation got news that Adrian Fiala passed away, which sucks a lot. I liked that guy, it seemed that he was not full of shit most of the time and that's something rare today.

In other news, it appears that Lawrence Phillips has made news of the worst kind:

Lawrence Phillips will never leave us as Husker fans, and if you stop to wonder why why why, you need to take a moment and ask yourself about whether you're worried about your status as a Husker fan or about his victims. I would hope it's the latter - nothing makes up for a life and nothing makes up for the viciousness that has become Phillips' time on this earth.

Back in 2009, I wrote a story about how I believed that Tom Osborne did the right thing in how he handled Lawrence Phillips. I stand by that story today. It's pretty easy to do hindsight 20/20 and blame Osborne or Nebraska for being potentially the only positive thing that happened in Phillips life.

What could have been a life of remarkable talent has turned into a life of violence. That's sad how you look at it.
