There's no question this season has been a disappointment by any measure but tonight, the Huskers look to finish the regular season on something of a high note as they host the #10 Maryland Terrapins. NU took the Terps to the wire they they faced off in College Park, MD February 19. The Huskers lost that game, just like they have each of the past seven.
Unlike last season, this year's final game will have virtually nothing on the line. There will be no NCAA tournament for the Huskers barring a completely unforeseen run in the Big Ten Conference tournament next week. For five Husker seniors, however, this game will mark the final time they will lace up the sneakers in scarlet and cream at Pinnacle Bank Arena. David Rivers, Leslee Smith, Moses Abraham, Trevor Mekne and Kye Kurkowski will all play their final home games for NU. If the Huskers do finish the season with a bang, they will avoid the first day of action at the conference tournament. With Penn State's win over Minnesota, the Huskers can grab the 10 seed at the annual tournament with a win this evening.
