Nebraska won the first game of the series on strong pitching from Chance Sinclair, who went 7.2 innings, giving up two hits, six strikeouts, and one earned run. The Nebraska offense did well against Texas starter Parker French, who gave up only two hits through the first four innings, then was chased in the fifth as the Husker bats reeled off four straight hits, scored three runs and left Mr French feeling bad about his outing as it was his worst of the season.
Sinclair picked up his third win of the season, French his second loss, and Nebraska Josh Roeder earned his eighth save of the season.
Nebraska finished with eight hits to the Longhorns' three, and that isn't bad against a team of the quality of Texas. (Wait... did I just compliment them?)
The final, 3-1, and a great start to the series against those stinky Horns-showing pukes from Austin. (Ahhhhhh... that feels better.)
