Gamethread: Nebraska Baseball Opens Series vs Florida Gulf Coast

Nebraska looks to stretch their win streak to 3.

The Nebraska Baseball team continues their 16 game home stand on Friday afternoon by hosting the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles in the first of a three game series. After sweeping a pair of midweek games against Northern Colorado, the Huskers will look to record win number 10 on the year.

The Huskers will send Chance Sinclair out for his fourth start of the year, Sinclair took a tough loss last weekend after pitching a complete game. Sinclair will be opposed by 2014 Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Year Mike Murray. Murray has not pitched less than 7 innings in any start this year.

Head coach Darin Erstad has altered his lineup for this contest, inserting Wes Edrington into the bottom of the lineup as the shortstop. Christian Cox will get the start in left.

The Huskers put on a power display, hitting 5 triples in the contest. Today, the wind is blowing out to dead center at 25-35 mph. Look for the Huskers to turn those triples into homers. Gametime temperature is expected to be in the mid to upper 70's.
