The Nebraska baseball team will look to even their series against the Loyola Marymount Lions after falling in game one of the series 4-1. Nebraska will need a balanced effort, of quality starting pitching, and key timely hitting. The Huskers failed to take advantage of their opportunities last night, while the Lions connected on a pair of two out rallies.
Nebraska will send senior left hand pitcher Kyle Kubat to the mound. Kubat was effective in his last start, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings of one run ball. Kubat will look to use his change to fool the Lions hitters. Kubat will be opposed by Trevor Megill. Trevor will pitch today, while his brother Tylor will pitch tommorow. Look for Megill to attack hitters and come after them early.
It will be important for someone besides Ryan Boldt to kickstart the Husker offense. Boldt is continuing to hit over .500 in the past two weeks, while the rest of the offense continues to struggle. Coach Darin Erstad has moved Scott Schreiber back in the lineup, and moved Steven Reveles down to the bottom of the order. Luis Alvarado has also been inserted back into the lineup for Christian Cox.
