Nebrasketball takes on Northwestern, more bowl mania, a long-standing Husker bowl record goes down, and shooting Go-Pro cameras with a homemade cannon.

Husker sports awake from their holiday slumber as Nebrasketball takes on Northwestern this afternoon (3 pm central). Northwestern will be a tough test for the Huskers. Check out Patrick's preview and join the daily thread, probably combined with an overall bowl game thread this afternoon.

Tomorrow (Thursday) the Husker women open conference play hosting Iowa at 1 p.m. central. The ladies blanked the Hawkeyes in Nebraska's first three years in the B1G, winning every game. Last season, Iowa came back with a vengeance and beat the Huskers three times. Both teams are replacing some key pieces, both brought in some good, young players and both are hovering around the same place in the pollster's minds. Will PBA Magic make the difference?

Or will Jess Shepard make the difference? Nebraska's 6'4" freshman wrapped up her fifth (out of seven possible) B1G freshman of the week awards.
