Former Nebraska DB Alfonzo Dennard Violates Probation, Back In Lancaster County Jail

The Husker will sit for a few days for violating probation.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Former Nebraska Cornhuskers Defensive Back Alfonzo Dennard was booked Tuesday morning in Lancaster County jail.

Dennard was booked at 10:06am yesterday on violation of his probation. According to this Lincoln Journal-Star piece, the reason for his booking was that he had failed two alcohol tests, which is part of his probation. For that, Dennard will spend 5 days in jail.

Dennard originally had issues right before the 2012 NFL Draft when he assaulted a Lincoln Police Officer. For that, Dennard was found guilty and was sentenced to 30 days jail and 3 years probation.

In '13, Dennard was once again arrested, this time for DUI.

A former All Big-12 player at Cornerback, Dennard's off the field issues cost him in the NFL Draft, as the once possible second rounder slipped all the way to the seventh round before New England took him. He spent 3 years with the Patriots, winning a Super Bowl last season. He was picked up after his release by the Arizona Cardinals, but was released before the season started.
