It may have been a changing of the guard for the Huskers as they defeated the Rhode Island Rams 70-67. After trailing for much of the game, NU was able to rally late in the second half behind 13 second half points from freshman point guard Glynn Watson Jr. including the game winning shot with :22 seconds left in the game.

Nebraska, after a difficult loss to Creighton in the midweek, notched their seventh win of the season as they head into Finals Week. Shavon Shields was once again the leader on the floor, putting up a game high 21 points. NU was also able to get to the foul line at a high level and they took advantage hitting on 20 of their 24 attempts. URI was only able to get to the line eight times.

NU will take the rest of the week off to finish the semester before next taking the floor one week from today, December 20, when the Samford Bulldogs come to town. Tip off is at 6 pm.
