The Nebraska Cornhuskers had their first postseason practice in preparation of the Foster Farms Bowl the day after Christmas vs. the UCLA Bruins.
Head Coach Mike Riley met the media after the half-pads practice and offered up some information.
- Nebraska Defensive Tackles Vincent Valentine and Maliek Collins have entered the paperwork to the NFL Draft Advisory board, in advance of seeing what their "draft grade" would be if they left school early.
While this was expected out of Collins, it is somewhat of a surprise about Valentine. However, one can take this Instagram post from VV and deduct your own logic.
- Riley also stated that a member of the team will not be on the team, but that would be revealed at a later time. Reports say that there were a fair number of players not at practice this week due to class conflicts.
- Dedrick Young and Marcus Newby did not practice on Friday. Alonzo Moore, who has been fighting shoulder issues all season, was a go at practice.
There will be more media opportunities next week at practice, but times will be odd with First Semester Finals next week. Riley stated that redshirts and scout team players will get some extra practice leading up to the bowl game.
