Nebraska came out strong against a feisty Tennessee team in their last game of the Barlcays Classic in Brooklyn, NY. This was to play for third place in the tournament.
Defense was key for the Huskers as they kept the Vols to only 36.2% shooting from the floor. There were a total of five lead changes before the Huskers went on a 21-5 run at halftime. The Vols never gave up but their efforts were not enough against this Husker squad.
Tai Webster continued his strong play in the Empire State with 18 points and was followed by Andrew White III who had 15 points and 4 rebounds. He even made the all tournament team with some pretty impressive stats.

Other productive starters were Jake Hammond and Shavon Shields who each ended the day with 11. Hammond also dominated the boards with 10 rebounds. This was another game where we say more great play from the bench. Glenn Watson Jr. was the lone guy to make double digits at 10 points, Jack McVeigh landed 8 points and 5 rebounds.
Tennessee was lead by guard Kevin Punter who had 23 points and guard Robert Hubbs who had 13.
Cincinnati and George Washington will play this afternoon for the first place trophy.
Nebraska is now 5-2 on the year with the only losses to ranked Cincinnati and Villanova. The Huskers come back to Lincoln on Tuesday to host #15 Miami (FL) at 8pm. The Hurricanes are sitting at 5-1 with good wins over ranked Butler and Utah. Their lone loss was to unranked Northeastern on Friday.
