No red shirts
This is what Tim Miles has decided for the season. That means that every player will play. All 14 guys who suit up for the Big Red will have an impact of some sort during the year.
Even thought the team is one game into the season, we can already start seeing the dividends on the court. Out of 14 players, only two did not score against Missouri Valley State on Saturday. Two players, Jack McVeigh and Nick Fuller, scored in the double digits off the bench. Yes, it was against Missouri Valley State, but it still gave us a glimpse of what the Huskers could possibly do this year.
What does the ability to have players come off the bench and contribute more than just a body on the court? It means more scoring. Something we haven't had in years. It means fresher legs during the long stretches of the game. Guys like Andrew White III and Shavon Shields can come off the court and rest instead of having a brief break.
It also hopefully means we have a group of guys who can play well together no matter who is on the court.
Tonight Nebraska plays its first true test of the season in a very strong and talented Villanova team. These guys have won the Big East the last two years and are predicted to win it again. Currently #9 in the nation and host some all american type talent.
