The football team lost to Northwestern 30-28. The (then) #3 Volleyball team lost to Minnesota on Friday night, then lost to Wisconsin on Saturday; both losses were at home.
I happened to make the comment about what a crappy weekend it was, and well, yeah, it was the crappiest weekend of all.
What a crappy weekend. https://t.co/aSFXZ7I1HG

@BooksBound @CornNation Your tweet made me curious, so I looked it up. It's officially the worst Husker weekend since Sept. 20-21, 1991.

@BooksBound @CornNation So: Worst Husker fb/vb weekend since 1991, and worst home weekend in school history.

Mike's Report Card article yesterday emphasized the most glaring stat of the loss:
Nine times, Nebraska faced a third down needing four or fewer yards. They ran the ball three times - and gained three first downs. Oh, and scored a touchdown too. But passing in those situations? One for six, with that interception.
Much will be made about Nebraska not substituting on the offensive line. I don't think that would have made much of a difference; our offensive line is just not very good. You can blame that on coaching all you want, but Mark Cavanaugh isn't delivering a high snap about 50% of the time, and he's not the one who has difficulty moving his feet at guard.
Northwestern seemed determined to take away outside runs, so I was surprised that we didn't see more runs up the middle, nor did Andy Janovich get any carries up the middle in the second half. We didn't see a whole lot of misdirection, nor option, and those things surprised me as well.
