Oops, they did it again. Coming off a strong performance last week in Minnesota and looking to add to it another as Northwestern came to town, the Huskers failed to capitalize on the opportunity, losing to the Wildcats 30-28. The Huskers have now lost three of their last four games this season, four of their last six home games and three straight home conference games.

There is little on the stat sheet that would suggest the Huskers were losers in this one. They nearly doubled Northwestern in time of possession and ran 30 more plays offensively. But the inability to keep their opponent from big plays and a costly interception returned for a touchdown was ultimately too much for the Huskers to overcome and the Wildcats head back to Evanston the victors.

Another disappointing loss in the books and a season hanging in the balance, the Huskers head back out on the road to take on the Purdue Boilermakers next Saturday. Kickoff is at 11 AM.
