Yesterday proved we can have lively, civil discussions on as long as they don't involve football.

I had planned on coming up with something witty last night, but I suffered a slight vertigo attack while doing yoga and didn't get much of a chance to write anything while I was lying on the floor trying not to vomit (or worse) and trying to keep my shit together while my balance was going haywire.

The last bout of vertigo got me the only ambulance ride of my life a couple years ago. It happened at a customer site while replacing a firewall. Everyone thought I was having a stroke, especially the police officer standing in front of me as I blurted out a bunch of nonsense that made complete sense to me but sounded like gibberish to everyone else.

It cost me a couple thousand dollars for an ER doctor to tell me that no one really understands vertigo, although since then I've discovered Eppley maneuvers and the like and haven't had a problem until last night.

And yes, yoga. I do simple yoga. It is nothing more than a form of exercises. You don't have to get into all that mind, body, spirit fruity bullshit if you don't want to, and all I want is my back to function without a lot of pain and yoga does a pretty good job at that as long as I'm consistent with it (which I'm not, but there's always something to work on).

Back to this concept of lively, civil discussion on this web site.... I am burned out on sports. I am burned out on Nebraska football. I need a break from it; I need to write about something else for a while, honestly.

Bottom line - if you run into interesting stuff you'd like to include here, please send it to me in an email -, and we'll run it in the Flakes section.
