If you are heading out to the late matinee game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan State Spartans this afternoon, here are some details on the #AveryStrong celebration:

Tipoff is set for 3:10 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  Tomorrow’s game is sold out, although a handful of tickets may be available when the Pinnacle Bank Arena gates open at 1:30 p.m.

When gates open: The first 1,500 students in the Red Zone will receive gold #Averystrong shirts courtesy of the Husker Sports Network.   Volunteers will be at the South Entrance and on the main concourse with information on how to join the bone marrow registry while fans between ages 18 and 44 can have their cheek swabbed to be a potential bone marrow match. In addition, UNL students and volunteers from the American Cancer Society will be on hand to pass out information on the UNL Re-lay for Life event in April.

Pregame: Five children who have had transplants, including Avery Harriman, will join the Huskers for the national anthem and introductions prior to tipoff.

Halftime: Two things are taking place during halftime ceremonies. First, the Alexandria Aces Basketball Performance Team will perform. In addition, new Nebraska football coach Mike Riley and his staff will be introduced to the crowd. Coach Riley will have short remarks as well.
