The #17 Nebraska Women's Basketball team took on their nemesis, the Purdue Boilermakers at Pinnacle Bank Arena Monday night. Led by Rachel Theriot's 16 points and seven assists, the Huskers saw four players reach double figures en route to their fourth straight Big Ten win.
Nebraska and Purdue have produced some of the most classic games the Huskers have played in since joining the Big Ten conference, but tonight was not one of them. The physical game was controlled nearly from start to finish by the Huskers. NU led by nine at the break, 33-24 and held off Purdue's attempt at a rally, who were able to close the gap to four with just over seven minutes to play, but would get no closer. NU hit their free throws down the stretch, claiming the win 69-59.
The Huskers look to push their winning streak to five when they head to Wisconsin Thursday evening.
