While you were out partying, another SEC team was getting crushed. Georgia Tech used their triple option, trap-blocking offense to run over, around, and through Mississippi State and what was supposed to be one the nation's best defenses.
The Rambling Wreck rambled up a 49-34 win.
Earlier in the day, TCU mauled Ole Miss 42-3, the three points coming late in the game only because Ole Miss didn't want to be blanked, which is somehow worse than being blanked. The Rebels finished with nine yards rushing. It was almost sad.
Almost, unless you remember how much hype the SEC West received the entire 2014 football season.
The SEC West now looks like they might be an overhyped farce, having built their reputation by beating themselves and in doing so having constructed a conference on a house of cards.
Auburn and Alabama play today. Were they to lose..... well, if they were to lose, all the national media will forget all about it and rank four SEC teams in the top ten in next year's preseason polls anyway.
Let's enjoy this stuff while we can.
