The Nebraska Cornhuskers released their non-conference schedule today, well most of it, anyway. The Big Ten released their conference schedule as well. The non-conference portion of the schedule is highlighted by visits from Creighton and Cincinnati as well as a trip to Hawaii over the Christmas holiday with potential matchups vs. Wichita St. and former Big XII rival Colorado. The Huskers will also make a trip to Tallahassee to take on Florida State to kick off the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Dec. 1.
When conference play gets under way, the Huskers will host Indiana on New Years Eve. Their conference slate is highlighted by a Super Tuesday visit from Wisconsin on Feb. 10. The Huskers will make another Super Tuesday appearance when they visit Michigan on Jan. 27th.
Other highlights of the schedule are appearances by NCAA tourney teams, Michigan St., Ohio St and Iowa. New conference rivals Maryland and Rutgers will also make their first appearances in PBA. The Huskers will look to get off to a fast start in conference play as February shapes up to be an especially difficult stretch, including four of their last six on the road with stops at Purdue, Maryland, Ohio St. and Illinois with visits from Wisconsin, Iowa and the Terrapins to close out the slate.
The Huskers are still working to determine who will open the season, but it will be on Nov. 6 at home. NU’s exhibition game will be vs. Southwest Minnesota St. The Division II program was also the third stop on the head coaching tour of Tim Miles, coaching there from 1997-2001, taking the Mustangs to the DII Elite Eight.
