Husker Mobile Apps Update!

Did you know that Huskers.com offers mobile apps for iPhones, iPads and Droid devices?

It doesn't seem like a lot of people know about them.

I've been using the Huskers app on my iPhone for the past few years now. I rely on it for listening to Husker baseball games, and during football season it's how I pick up on the pre-game coverage coming out of Nebraska.

In-state Husker fans may not find the app as useful, as they can turn on a radio and pick up any number of stations on the Husker Sports Network, but those of us who live out of state aren't so fortunate.

There are apps such as TuneIn Radio that provide access to Lincoln and Omaha radio from anywhere so you can listen to talk shows, but radio stations are not licensed to stream live events, so if you're out-of-state and can't be in front of a TV, you might find the Huskers app useful for enhanced coverage.

The iOS app was recently updated for the 2014-2015 season, while the Droid update should be expected this week. The app itself is free for news, photos, roster, schedule info, stadium maps and live stats during the game.

There are some features that require an in-app upgrade once a year for $4.99. That includes live audio streaming (Sports Nightly, Football, Volleyball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Softball and Baseball) and Video on Demand.

Kelly Mosier, Director of Digital Communications for the Athletic Department informed me that more features will be coming soon, so be sure to check back at Corn Nation for more information later.
