Nebraska Center Mark Pelini Named to Rimington Award Watch List

Eric Francis

The Boomer Esaison Foundation has revised their watch list for the Rimington Award, for the nation's best collegiate center.  66 players appear on this list, which means there are more teams with players listed than teams that don't have a player included.

10 Big Ten centers are listed, including Nebraska's Mark Pelini.  The 6'0" 290 pound senior has only started one game in his career at Nebraska. (For what it's worth, Phil Steele projects that junior Ryne Reeves will get the call to be the starter when the season starts.)

Only four Big Ten teams do not have candidates on the watch list:  Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.  11 SEC teams have candidates to lead the list.
