Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

We had the daughter's grad party Sunday afternoon/evening, right during the USA - Portugal match. I pulled up the match periodically on my phone just to check the score. I just happened to launch WatchESPN during the last 40 seconds of the game. What a disappointment. All of our guests immediately knew what happened (although, I have to say, I didn't swear... too much, anyway.)

The party went well, just in case you were wondering.

UP: UP's Big Red Express Delivers Husker Pride

Union Pacific's Big Red Express takes to the rails Saturday, June 28 on a whistle-stop tour through Eastern Nebraska and beyond. The train's precious cargo includes coaches and personnel from University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Husker sports programs.

I was always more of a "plane" guy than a "train" guy, but if you're a train guy you should be aware of what Union Pacific is up to this weekend. On Saturday, June 28th, Union Pacific's Big Red Express will travel through Nebraska, making stops at Columbus, Grand Island, Kearney, and North Platte.

Basically, this is an old fashioned whistle-stop tour, which is kind of cool because what else are you going to be doing Saturday but waiting for college football season?

The schedule for the stops can be found at the link above.

Participating coaches:

Husker coaches planning to take part in the Big Red Express tour include: Chuck Chmelka (men's gymnastics); David Harris (cross country); Scott Jacobson (women's tennis); Dan Kendig (women's gymnastics); Robin Krapfl (women's golf); Kerry McDermott (men's tennis); Tim Miles (men's basketball); Pablo Morales (women's swimming); Bo Pelini (football); Gary Pepin (track & field); Rhonda Revelle (softball); Bill Spangler (men's golf); Bill Straub (bowling); John Walker (women's soccer) and Connie Yori (women's basketball).

Just a guess, but I'm pretty sure that train engines don't actually go "toot toot".
