Nebraska plays their Big Ten home opener this weekend against the Ohio State Buckeyes - a rather pivotal early season series for both teams as I mentioned earlier today. The Huskers were picked in the preseason to finish second in the conference, while Ohio State was picked third.
The Huskers lead the Big Ten in seven different offensive categories - Average (.306), Slugging (.393), Hits (307), Runs (181), RBIs (163), Doubles (47), Triples (15) - and pitching in all three games matches up favorably.
It would be surprising to see Nebraska lose this series, but the Huskers need to be more consistent!
Update:
Ohio State has scratched Ryan Riga from tonight's start. Will send RHP Greg Greve to the hill instead. Greve has been their Sunday starter.
