Nebraska spring football practice has been underway for a while now, but we sure haven't had much about it around here, eh?
You could blame that on the excitement of Nebrasketball. For the first time in many years, Husker fans had a men's basketball team to root for in March. The women's basketball team was there too, as is the Nebraska baseball team.
I have this feeling, though, that there's something else going on. While there are certainly glowing reports coming out of spring camp about such things as the emergence of Alex Lewis, the motor of Randy Gregory, and how the players are talking about each other instead of themselves, being all unselfish and such, there seems to be something missing.
Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be the same buzz missing fro Husker football this spring. I get that we should have a better team this coming season, but I can't shake the feeling that there's a whole lot of you that are in "wait and see" mode regarding this year's team. Every year we've heard the same stories about amazing players coming of age, or how everything is moving slower for this player or that, and every season under Bo Pelini has resulted in four losses.
Please don't turn this into a Bo Pelini hate/love fest. I'd like to know what you think of this year's team - the players, not the coaches. What are you excited about? What are you not? Or are you just stuck somewhere in the middle, wanting results before you get yourself more emotionally involved than you already are?
