After Georgetown thumped Creighton on Tuesday night, Nebraska wide receiver Kenny Bell didn't hide his thoughts on the results.
Creighton lost. 😏😏😏 *fist pump*— Kenny Bell (@AFRO_THUNDER80) March 5, 2014
Nothing wrong with that, he's a Husker fan in all sports. He did have a few thoughts for people who look, well, more purple than anything else.
Jayskers make me sick. All or nothing people.— Kenny Bell (@AFRO_THUNDER80) March 5, 2014
Well, things escalated rather quickly. Former Creighton baseball player Tony Roth threw the first punch.
Rather ironic coming from a minor league baseball player who never did much outside of A ball, but whatever. Bell had a measured response for him...
Others took issue with Bell's opinion on mixed fandom.
@shayymariex3 u can do whatever u'd like. In my opinion, if ur a "diehard" fan of something. It's them or no1. But I guess that's just me— Kenny Bell (@AFRO_THUNDER80) March 5, 2014
Can you be fans of more than one school? It's a little dicey, for sure. I've been a Husker fan since I was a little kid, but I also went to school at Nebraska-Omaha. The two schools don't play much, but I consider myself a fan of both. When UNO plays the Huskers in baseball or basketball, I don't root against either school. Granted, Nebraska's program is better in both, so that's not really an issue. But there's a difference in being a fan of both schools - and being a fan of Nebraska football who becomes a hater of Nebraska basketball because of Creighton.
Then, a Faux Creighton account got into the act and poured gasoline on the situation.
"@AFRO_THUNDER80: Creighton lost. 😏😏😏 *fist pump*" Go cheap shot another Wisconsin player you thug. Have fun on the Omaha Beef.— FakeBlueCrew (@FakeBlueCrew) March 5, 2014
Ouch. But there's more...
Just thinking about that poor Wisconsin player that @AFRO_THUNDER80 tried to injure on purpose. Hope he is ok, you guys.— FakeBlueCrew (@FakeBlueCrew) March 5, 2014
Nebraska fans are kind of touchy when you call out mediocre wide receivers.— FakeBlueCrew (@FakeBlueCrew) March 5, 2014
Of course, our own Cobby couldn't resist joining in...
Of course, they had no choice to learn wine after Zima was discontinued....but I digress...
But seriously, you can see where this might be going...
