Next year is here! The Huskers are going dancing. There is no more anticipation, no more guessing, no more wondering if they've done enough. They're in. The Huskers saw their name pop up on the bracket and the Crowd at Pinnacle Bank Arena exploded with delight. The team exploded out of their chairs, their delight could not be contained, after 16 long, dark, years, they're in the field.
Nebraska earned the #11 seed in the West region and will take on the #6 seed Baylor Bears, their former conference mates in San Antonio Friday. The Bears were runner up in the Big 12 tournament falling to Iowa State.
The game will be televised on TruTV on Friday at 11:40 am central time. Marv Albert and Steve Kerr will be calling the game, while Craig Sager and his Iowa wardrobe will be reporting from courtside. The games will also be streamed online at NCAA.com March Madness Online.
Adding to the drama, if the Huskers defeat the Bears, their likely opponent will be their in-state nemesis, the Creighton Bluejays and all everything Doug McDermott. So, if you were short of things to talk about this week, that's about to change. The conversation in the state of Nebraska is about to reach unprecedented levels, especially if both in state teams find their way to Sunday. The Riverwalk in San Antonio will not be lacking for storylines or drama.
Get ready to dance ladies and gentlemen, you no longer have to hope and dream for next year. You're on the dance card.
