The Big Ten conference honored two Huskers for their performances this week:
Shavon Shields, Men's Basketball
The 6'6" sophomore swing player earned his second Big Ten player of the week honor this season for his 26 point performance against Wisconsin. The victory secured a fourth place finish in the Big Ten and a first round bye in the conference tournament.
Shields also scored 17 points in a road win at Indiana with eight rebounds. Shields shares this week's player of the week honors with Michigan's Nik Stauskas.
Indiana's Troy Williams was named freshman of the week for scoring 18 points against the Huskers and 16 points against league champion Michigan this week.
Ryan Boldt, Baseball
The freshman outfielder hit .600 in this weekend's sweep of St. Johns, with six hits and six runs scored on the weekend. On Friday, Boldt went 3-for-4 in the opener. On Saturday, two hits and two runs, and then finished the weekend with three runs scored on Sunday with a triple.
Michigan junior outfielder Jackson Glines was the Big Ten's player of the week in baseball for going 9 for 17 against Florida Gulf Coast and Princeton. Ohio State junior pitcher Ryan Riga is the pitcher of the week for a complete game shutout of Oregon on Saturday. It's the second pitcher of the week honor for Riga in four weeks of this season.
