The Big Ten placed 10 teams into the bowls along with Ohio State making the inaugural College Football Playoff.
The Big Ten's match ups are as follows:
College Football Playoff: Ohio State vs Alabama
Ohio State presents some very interesting problems against Alabama. The Crimson Tide secondary is weak, and Cardale Jones showed his ability to hit the deep ball against Wisconsin.
Cotton Bowl: Michigan State vs Baylor
Can Sparty play ball control against Baylor - that's the key here.
Heart of Dallas Bowl: Illinois vs Louisiana Tech
Illinois made a bowl. They'll be so happy they made a bowl they may not actually show up to play it.
Taxslayer Bowl: Iowa vs Tennessee
Iowa has a shot at a SEC win. These two teams are fairly matched. Whomever makes the least mistakes comes away with it.
Foster Farms Bowl: Maryland vs Stanford
At least Maryland gets to leave the North for a while during winter.
Citrus Bowl: Minnesota vs Missouri
Minnesota will have their hands full with the Mizzou defensive line, but
Pinstripe Bowl: Penn State vs Boston College
Penn State made a bowl game!
Quick Lane Bowl: Rutgers vs North Carolina
Wasn't Rutgers supposed to be the worst team ever?
Outback Bowl: Wisconsin vs Auburn
Biggest question - can the Badgers overcome that 59-0 performance in the Big Ten Championship game, or will they be embarrassed on national TV again?
Holiday Bowl: Nebraska vs USC
I like this match up. One last chance to see Ameer Abdullah, Kenny Bell and Randy Gregory. I'm guessing we'll be talking about it a fair amount coming up.

Chapman: Money speaks louder than words - The Grand Island Independent: Sports
For the past 10-15 years, it seems Nebraska has identified the root of its football problem as coaching. A significant portion of the fan-base, perhaps spoiled by the 30-plus years of all-time coaching greatness and a top-15 commitment to facilities and budget, are comfortable placing the blame for the Cornhuskers’ decline on the shoulders Frank Solich, Bill Callahan and Bo Pelini — all who have been fired by NU since Tom Osborne finished his remarkable 25-year coaching run in Lincoln.

Damn. This was disappointing. Nebraska has to get some points from people not named Terran Petteway or Shavon Shields. Someone needs to find Walter Pitchford. And Tai Webster - is he ever going to become a real threat?

NJIT 72. Michigan 70. Really. | mgoblog
The stages of a shocking upset are predictable. It starts with amusement. Then it moves to concern about the effects on KenPom or the polls. Then it becomes a mild concern that this might actually become a problem. Then there’s a moment when you realize, "uh oh." And it stops being fun.
