Nebraska vs. Creighton Gamethread

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

Husker hoops fans have been pointing to this game for 364 days. Ever since the final buzzer sounded on that Bluejay whitewashing, the Huskers and their fans have been licking their chops for a shot at the instate rivals. The balance of power has shifted, so they say. For the first time in a long time, Nebraska can say that and actually believe it. With the Huskers coming off their first NCAA tournament appearance in 16 years and returning the core of that team, and the Jays looking to replace almost their entire starting lineup from last year's "dream team", it might actually be a statement based in reality, not just wishful thinking.

We'll find out tonight when these two teams tip off shortly after 6 pm at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Huskers are looking to push their record to 6-1 and pick up their third consecutive win. The Jays are coming off a loss on the road at the hands of Tulsa and have yet to find much success away from the CenturyLink Center.

This will be a spirited afair. Calls for a repeat of the ever successful "No Sit Sunday" have been made on social media. The athletic department has not made it official, but they're not discouraging Husker fans from such practice.
