When it came down to who would be Offensive Coordinator for the Nebraska Cornhuskers under new Head Coach Mike Riley, there was always one name that kept coming back to the forefront. And, today, that name finally came to light.
Giants QB coach Danny Langsdorf headed for a reunion with Mike Riley at Nebraska. He'll be OC there after one year working with Eli Manning.

Danny Langsdorf, who was the Offensive Coordinator under Mike Riley for five seasons at Oregon State, is expected to be named the Offensive Coordinator for Nebraska.
Langsdorf, who is 42 years old, was the OC for the New York Giants under HC Tom Coughlin last season.
Langsdorf had 2 stints at Oregon State under Riley. He was a GA from 1997-98, then the OC/QB coach from 2005-2013, when he left for Broadway and the NFL.
Langsdorf was responsible for Eli Manning to have a bounceback year, going from 57% to 63% in completion percentage, with over 4400 yards of passing and bringing Touchdown passes up (18 to 30) while bringing down interceptions (27 to 14).
At Oregon State, Langsdorf's offense averaged over 31 points per game in his final 2 seasons. However, the 2 seasons before (2010/2011), they only averaged about 21 to 24 points per game. In '13, Langsdorf and Riley brought Sean Mannion to over 4660 yards of passing with a 66% completion rate. That was an improvement over Mannion's '12 season, where he split time with Cody Vaz at QB. That year, Mannion went for 64% with just over 2400 yards.
As a comparison, Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong in both '13 and '14 has completed around 52% of his passes in both seasons.
Langsdorf also has a connection with OL coach Mike Cavanaugh, as he donated a kidney to Cavanaugh's wife, Laurie. Laurie Cavanaugh is the sister of Kevin Gilbride, the former Giants OC. Gilbride was replaced by Ben McAdoo, who hired Langsdorf as QB coach.
What to expect from Danny Langsdorf? Here's a sneak preview.
