Corn Flakes: Nebraska vs USC - The Holiday Bowl Is Here!

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

This is the end.

It's the end of the 2014 Nebraska football season; the end of what's left of Bo Pelini's coaching staff, and the end of the Bo Pelini era, really.

It's also the last game for a number of Husker players. Although most of us will be focused on Kenny Bell and Ameer Abdullah, it's also the last game for Corey Cooper, Josh Mitchell, Trevor Roach, Jake Cotton, Mike Moudy, Mark Pelini, and Zaire Anderson.

There's a number of articles here listing statistics and breaking down both teams. I realize why they have to be written, but they're meaningless. You know as well as I that this game has nothing to do with statistics or what each team did all season.

It all has to do with motivation, i.e., who gives a shit the most.

We've all lambasted Tim Beck, Barney Cotton and John Papuchis. I hope the Huskers play well for themselves and for their coaches. Play for Husker fans... well, not so much. We don't deserve it all that much, and I don't believe a lot of us really care.

Afterwards whether we win or lose I suspect that the regular media guys will try to make something of how the game was played when really, it means nothing with regards to what's going to happen in the future.
