Ameer Abdullah & De'Mornay Pierson-El Both Earn 2nd Team All-American Status

The Husker Running Back and Wideout/Kick Returner earn some accolades on Thursday.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a pair of Second-Team All Amercian's on their roster. One is leaving a legacy, while the other one has a bright future ahead.

Ameer Abdullah and De'Mornay Pierson-El both received 2nd Team AA status from different publications today. Abdullah was named 2nd team AA at Running Back by CBS Sports, while Pierson-El was named 2nd Team AA as a Punt Returner by USA Today.

Abdullah, a Senior from Homewood, Alabama, had 1,523 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns in the 2014 season. That total includes 4 games where he went for 200 yards plus rushing. Abdullah is also Nebraska's all-time leader in all-purpose yards and getting to second on the all-time rushing chart, sitting only behind Mike Rozier on the list.

Pierson-El, a true Freshman from Alexandria, Virginia, exploded on the scene and led the Nation with 589 yards in Punt Returns, a full 220 plus yards ahead of second place on the list. He also had 3 Punt Returns for touchdowns, which included 2 of more than 80 yards. Pierson-El also had 15 catches for 219 yards and 3 TD's as well.
