The Huskers begin a difficult four game stretch as they hit the road for the second time to take on the Florida State Seminoles to tip off the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. After losing their first road game of the year when they took on Rhode Island on Nov. 22, the Huskers have won their next two home games vs. Omaha and Tennessee-Martin.
The Seminoles, in preseason were picked to finish eighth in the ACC this season and narrowly missed out on the NCAA tournament last season. This season has been a bit rocky so far for the 'Noles, however. After winning their season opener, they lost their next three including one at home vs. Northeastern. They have won their next two, however, and currently sit at 3-3.
FSU will be without their all-time leading three point shooter, Devon Bookert, who is out after having a screw removed from his foot. They could also be without their leading scorer, Aaron Thomas who was taken off the court on a stretcher vs. UMass on Nov. 23 and has not played since. That would be a big blow for the Seominoles who will have a big enough challenge trying to slow down the Huskers Terran Petteway/Shavon Shields duo.
Both teams pride themselves on their defense, so this game could be a low scoring affair. If the Huskers shoot like they did vs. UTM that could give them the boost they need in this game. Both teams also struggle to rebound. This will be one of the few games where the Huskers come into it holding the advantage on the glass statistically coming into the game.
