Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

I had a late night last night in which the temperature continued to drop and will be at around -16 in the morning. Along with that, I failed at a firewall installation. I hate it when I fail at stuff like that.

So... today's links are a bunch of news that you want to read about but without much else in the way of commentary.

Peyton Manning's 'Omaha!' has taken over Denver's airport - SBNation.com

Those flights aren't from Omaha. They're from OMAHA!

Manning should start yelling "LINCOLN" during the Super Bowl because.... he should. I mean, Omaha shouldn't be getting THAT much attention without Lincoln at least getting a little love somewhere in the process.

Petteway, Nebraska top Gophers despite Malik Smith's slick shooting | Star Tribune

Minnesota allowed a Nebraska team that came into the game ranked 10th in the Big Ten in offensive efficiency to shoot 50 percent from the field and make 11 three-pointers. Terran Petteway was particularly damaging, finishing with 35 points on 10-for-15 shooting with four three-pointers.

Gophers postgame: Minnesota needs to find consistency before it can compete | Gold in the Barn | StarTribune.com

*After the game, Smith said Pitino didn't yell in the locker room, as he sometimes does after tough losses. Instead, the coach approached his players and gave them the "disappointed" card instead. "That definitely hurts more than anything because it's usually just him yelling. But him coming in there an to be pretty much honest with us and not yell, it just shows how really disappointed he is in us. We didn't like that."

Pitino didn't yell at his players and they didn't like it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Pete Carroll: NFL should explore medical marijuana if it helps players - CBSSports.com

There are only two states in the country where recreational marijuana use is legal and the NFL teams from those two states are playing in Super Bowl XLVIII. So it probably shouldn't come as any surprise that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was asked about marijuana on Monday.

I suppose medicinal vodka has run its course.
