It was an excellent game for the Huskers as they finally held on to get their first Big Ten Conference win of the 2013-2014 season!
Some additional notes on the game, courtesy of the UNL Athletic Department:
-Nebraska's win against No. 17 Ohio State snapped a 15-game losing streak against ranked teams, dating back to a win over No. 11 Indiana on Jan. 18, 2012.
-Nebraska snapped a five-game losing streak, including a 31-point loss in Columbus on Jan. 4. Nebraska improves to 1-2 against ranked teams this year.
-The win also snapped a nine-game Ohio State win streak in the series and was NU's first win over the Buckeyes since joining the Big Ten (0-6).
-Nebraska became the second Ohio State opponent to shoot 50 percent this season. Nebraska shot 37 percent in the first meeting.
-Tonight's crowd of 15,342 is the second largest in school history
-With 18 points, Terran Petteway has been in double figures in 14 straight games, the longest stretch since Aleks Maric had 14 straight double-figure games in 2007-08.
-Shavon Shields' 18 points and nine rebounds tied or set highs in Big Ten play. Shields' nine rebounds also marked the second straight game he has had a season-high in rebounds.
-Nebraska’s 13-0 first-half run is the Huskers’ second-longest of the season and largest since a 15-0 run against Arkansas State on Dec. 14
