Four Officials Visitors Will Take In Nebraska vs. Southern Miss

Nebraska's recruiting hasn't done much lately, but today the Big Red welcome four players to town for Official Visits.

It's been a pretty quiet late summer for Nebraska recruiting. With the exception of the verbal of Kansas DT Peyton Newell, Ross Els' has not gotten too much feedback from kids this fall.

There was one visitor for the Wyoming game, in Florida DT Rohan Blackwood. Word is the visit "went well", however Blackwood has kept his recruitment very close to his inner circle, so there's no real knowing by anyone how the visit went.

With a national rank of around 44 in the 247 composite, and a Big 10 ranking of in the bottom half, the Huskers could use some charges to their class in the not too distant future.

This weekend against Southern Miss, Nebraska has at least two legitimate possibilities for verbal commitments. The visitors, in no particular order for this weekend include:

  • Erik Brown - The current Washington verbal is a 4 star that was offered by the Huskers back near Memorial Day. There's no real thought that he could switch, but a big day by Kenny Bell, Quincy Enunwa and the rest of the WR core could give some thought to Brown about the type of offense he would be on in Lincoln.
  • Quinton Flowers - Being the 12th best Dual Threat QB listed on the board, Flowers is coming in from Miami where he could be a vital aspect of the 2014 class. With Nebraska verbal Zack Darlington's playing status in limbo because of concussions, Nebraska flat out needs another Quarterback in this class. Flowers would be a nice pickup that would take the worry of Darlington's injury and possible retirement from football in easier thoughts playing wise.
  • Joshua Kalu - The 3 star safety from Houston Alief could be the one kid to put the money on for a verbal if there is one at the end of the weekend. Nebraska wanted Kalu's running mate Chris Hardeman, but he is instead taking his talents to Stillwater for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. I can't see Kalu not being a Husker, the question just being a matter of when, not if.
  • Madre London - The final visitor is Madre London, a Florida RB who seems destined for the B1G. He has a visit with Wisconsin next week, as well as a scheduled trip to East Lansing in October. With a majority of his predictions being the Huskers, Nebraska could do well to get him to verbal this weekend before the odds go down with the more visits he takes.
