Sai Tummala has decided to decline the scholarship offer from Husker Coach Tim Miles and will instead go back home and play for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Tummala, the Phoenix, AZ native originally walked on at Michigan before transferring to Salt Lake Community College. The 6’ 6” power forward had a break-out season at SLCC earning Region 18 All-American honors, as well as all-league honors as well as earning an NJCAA Academic All-American spot.
Tummala was deciding between Nebraska, Arizona St, BYU, Pitt and Miami (OH). Arizona and Texas were also rumored to have late interest as well.
With Tummala passing on the Huskers offer, they still have one more scholarship to fill for the upcoming season. The Huskers will host Finnish power forward, Mikael Herbert this weekend.
