Above are the standings heading into the final game.
Nebraska needs to win this game and the series.
If that happens and Indiana wins against Ohio State, Nebraska will get the #2 seed in the Big Ten tourney and Indiana wins their first regular season Big Ten title since 1949. That's what we want.
If Ohio State wins, then Indiana, Ohio State, and Nebraska finish tied for the Big Ten regular season title, but Nebraska gets the #3 seed in the Big Ten tourney.Junior Logan McAnallen, a lefty, will get the start for Michigan. McAnallen has a 3.18 ERA, 17 appearances with 11 starts, and has held opposing batters to a .285 average.
Whatever McAnallen does, the Husker bats will have to do better. Last night the Huskers were cruising to a 9-2 win when the Nebraska bullpen gave up four runs on a grand slam. Josh Roeder had to close out the game for Nebraska.
Nebraska cannot afford the same performance in today's game if they want that #2 seed and a first-round bye in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament.
