It's the final week of the Big Ten baseball regular season. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are in the hunt for a conference title.

I'm not going to go into specifics about what it will take the Huskers to win it beyond this combination - Huskers sweep Michigan, Ohio State wins series against Indiana and Minnesota loses a game to Illinois. Otherwise, read this excellent but completely convoluted guide by Jon Nyatawa of the OWH.

Priority - sweep Michigan, which will be more difficult this week as the normal "Friday" pitcher Christian DeLeon is out due to arm soreness. Kubat will start this evening, while Aaron Bummer gets the start tomorrow and Tyler Niederklein will start the finale'.

The key to beating Michigan? Keep them off the bases. The Wolverines be B1G leaders in stolen bases with 99 (2nd - Illinois at 96, 3rd - Ohio State at 77).

Szkutnik has a 4.88 ERA and opponents are batting .299 against him. Michigan comes into this evening's game on a two-game losing streak, although they did win their series against Purdue last weekend. They are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

It's a beautiful day, Haymarket Park should be full of Husker fans and there's no reason why Nebraska shouldn't take this series against Michigan. It starts this evening!

GO BIG RED!
