Tonight the Husker baseball team heads to Manhattan to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. The Huskers are coming off a three-game sweep of Northwestern, while those evil K-Staters are coming off a 1-2 series loss at Baylor last weekend.

This is the second of a three-game series, the next game being played in Nebraska on April 23rd. Maybe it was scheduled that way just because. Or maybe Kansas State was to wimpy to come play the Huskers in early April because it might be toooo chilly. And yes, I will continue to make an issue of the weather all of the time forever because college baseball is the most lopsidedly unfair sport in all of collegiate sports. Be sure to read the notes below, particularly the part in bold.

Remember that this is a mid-week game and as thus will feature mid-week pitchers. These are pitchers who are not typically in the starting rotation but are still trying to develop.

THIS IS YOUR OPEN THREAD! THE GAME IS TELEVISED ON FOX SPORTS MIDWEST!!!

Check out these notes from the Nebraska Athletic Department Press Release:

The Wildcats are 18-10 overall on the year and have played 19 of their 28 games at home, including 19 straight home games after playing their first six games of the season on the road.

The Wildcats are 14-5 on the year at home with sweeps of Oakland (3 games), Niagara (2 games) and Bethune Cookman (3 games).

Kansas State is just 1-4 on the year away from Tointon Family Stadium.

Kansas State is hitting .322 as a team, while holding opposing batters to a .264 average.
