Nebraska Baseball needed a large Tuesday against the #10 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks to help out their RPI ranking as they motor through the Big Ten schedule.

And, boy, did they help their cause in the first game.

Husker ace Sophomore pitcher Kyle Kubat made his first start Tuesday afternoon for the Big Red, and he was effective through 5 innings as he got 3 strikeouts, but was pulled after being on a strict pitch count of 60.

Then the bullpen, which has caught some brutal stuff the last couple weeks, came to shine.

Seniors Tyler Neiderklein and Dylan Vogt kept the 0 on the hit column for the Razorbacks through the last three innings. The only Arkansas players to make it on base were Catcher Jean Ramirez (3 times, 2x walk and a hit batter) and Outfielder Matt Vinson. Vinson's walk came in the 9th inning, but Vogt got the double play and then retired Tyler Spoon to fly out to end the game.

The second game of the doubleheader will start at 6:35 central and be on the Big Ten Network and Join us in the game thread and talk about the game in there!
