For those sweating the recent departure of Braylon Heard from the Nebraska offensive backfield, I'm here to give you news that will make you feel better.
#Nebraska RB signee Adam Taylor takes home Player of the Year honors on Texas 5A All-State team: bit.ly/XHspan #Huskers
— Nate Clouse (@NateClouse) February 28, 2013
Taylor, who committed to the Huskers in the middle of November, was voted to said Texas 5A PoY honors by the Texas Sports Writers Association. You can read about the whole team in this snippet from the Houston Chronicle.
How good was Taylor? This line:
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Taylor, who signed with Nebraska, rushed for 2,755 yards with 44 touchdowns, both school records. He had 276 yards and five touchdowns in the Division II state title game against Cedar Hill.
... should have the point made that he did all this AFTER tearing an ACL before his Senior season.

Have I ever mentioned that Texas didn't even offer Taylor after his injury?
After watching the highlights of Taylor's game vs. Cedar Hill in the 5A-2 State title game versus Cedar Hill (a D that wasn't too damn bad), you'll believe in the guy.
