Huskers vs. Hurricanes: Big Ten/ACC Challenge Game Thread

New, comments

The Huskers hit the hardwood vs. the Miami Hurricanes as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

David McGee

Last time we saw the Huskers, they held on to defeat the Northern Illinois Huskies in a sluggish effort last Saturday. The Huskers look to put a better effort together as they host the Miami Hurricanes tonight at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The matchup is as a part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and will be the final game to be played in the ESPN arranged extragaganza. The conference bragging rights could be on the line. The ACC got off to a 4-2 start in day one, but the Big Ten teams are largely favored in todays matchups.

The Hurricanes are coming off one of their best seasons in school history, advancing to the Sweet 16 in last years NCAA tournament. The Canes, however, lost nearly every significant contributor off that team and have struggled at times to put it all together on the court. Head coach Jim Larannaga has recruited well, and this team will be plenty talented, but it might not be ready for an environment they'll face in Lincoln tonight. It is also the biggest stage the Huskers will face to date this season.

Projected Starters:

Nebraska (5-2):

Terran Petteway - G
Shavon Shields - F

Rion Brown - G
Donnavan Kirk - F
James Kelly - F
