With the arrival of the Nebraska Cornhuskers into Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Wednesday versus the Georgia Bulldogs, some team maintenance issues were addressed after the first Florida practice.

Head Coach Bo Pelini stated that Defensive End Avery Moss and Linebacker Jared Afalava did not make the trip from Lincoln with the team.

Moss, a Redshirt Freshman, was "back in Arizona, dealing with personal issues" according to Pelini. However, there was a court date listed for New Years Eve for Moss on a Public Indecency charge from an issue last December. Moss has 36 tackles and one interception for a Touchdown versus Northwestern this year.

Afalava, also a Redshirt Freshman, has not dressed for a few games this season. Afalava has 12 tackles this year in limited action.

It was also confirmed that Senior Quarterback Taylor Martinez will not play in the bowl game, officially ending his Nebraska career. Martinez's last action was in the loss at Minnesota, but has been injured seemingly his entire season, depending on who you listen to.

With no Martinez, Nebraska will rely on Frosh QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. to start, as well as having Ron Kellogg III come in at points throughout the game.
