Nebraska Women's Basketball Receives Highest Preseason Ranking in School History

Expectations abound for the Nebraska women's basketball team as they received the highest preseason ranking in school history. They will start the season 12th.


After finishing the 2012-13 season ranked 18th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, Nebraska enters the 2013-14 season as the highest ranked team in the Big Ten.  The other Big Ten teams ranked in the preseason poll are Penn State (15th), Michigan State (18th) and Purdue (23rd).  Future Big Ten opponents Maryland are ranked 6th in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.  Nebraska's also plays North Carolina (11th) and UCLA (25th) on the non-conference slate this season.  You can see a full list of the USA Today preseason rankings here.

The ladies have already played one preseason game in the tuneup for the season which was a 98-47 win over Pittsburgh State.  Nebraska has one more preseason game against Nebraska-Kearney on November 3rd before their regular season schedule kicks off November 8th at high noon against UCLA.  The first regular season basketball game at the Pinnacle Bank Arena will be televised on NET.  For those still interested in purchasing tickets for the upcoming season click here for all the details.
