Tickets to the Nebraska vs Purdue game are now available for $1.75. For comparison's sake, the Nebraska vault book I reviewed a few years ago includes a replica ticket stub from the 1941 Rose Bowl, Nebraska's first bowl game against Stanford. That ticket was $3.00 plus .30 tax. The 1964 Orange Bowl ticket cost was $5.00.
How could you be a Husker fan in Indiana and not attend a game that would cost you less than a large Coke in most establishments!?
$1.75 is equivalent to .22 cents in 1958, the last time Nebraska played Purdue because I know someone is wondering about that.

Northwestern vs. Wisconsin: Why to hate the Badgers - Sippin' On Purple
We actually have to teach ourselves to hate our cheesebeerfriends from the north.
I find this bizarre. You'd think with all the history in the Big Ten that these teams would already hate each other for many many reasons that we can only try to comprehend.

OTE Staff Picks Broken Hearts Bowl, Old Brass Spittoon, Others - Off Tackle Empire
I was initially underwhelmed by this week's slate, but hey, OSU's got to take a break from shattering dreams at some point, right? This week we've got the Old Brass Brouhaha, Nebraska looking to get off the schneid versus [REDACTED], the Emotionally Spent Bowl, and probably the least-hyped game between two of our "kings" that I can remember.

At first glance, the 2015 football schedule looks like another "easy" slate to be picked apart by national commentators. After a deeper look...well..yeah. That's probably still true.

Jerry Kill is taking a leave of absence to focus on his epilepsy treatment. Defensive Coordinator Tracy Claeys will serve as interim coach.
I had a discussion today with a Minnesota season ticket holder at one of my regular customer sites. We both agreed that this is probably the beginning of the end for Jerry Kill as head coach of the Minnesota Gophers. I hope we're wrong.

Huskers adapt to new venue, young players - Daily Nebraskan: Sports
"We have eight freshmen, and this is new for all these guys," coach John cook said. "Who plays in front of 8,000 every night in volleyball? We’re still learning how to handle nerves. It’s going to take time for them to get a little more comfortable." Although the team is adapting to the new court at the Devaney Center and is learning to mesh veterans and rookies on the court, the Huskers have still had success.

SBNation's Corn nation is all about their first trip to West Lafayette in over 50 years.
A Nebraska victory over Purdue on Saturday would be a milestone of sorts for the Cornhuskers: Iowa State would no longer account for 10 percent of the football program’s all-time victories.
Is that a reach? Probably not in this day and age where we're looking for every angle to a story. It is evidence that times they are a changin', though.
