BTN

So this Sunday, drop in for a double-header Game Thread for basketball. A shout out to OnlyJade and redvalley for their heroic albeit lonely support of women's basketball last night. It's understandable that many of us were unable to make it - 5:30pm is kind of early. But hopefully we can get a little more support Sunday. After all, our women's basketball team is much better than the men's.

UNL Football

''You have to take your hat off to them because of the level of competition,'' Osborne said. ''I don't know that the SEC top to bottom is filled with great teams, but you have at least three or four very good teams in recent years. To survive that schedule, you have to be very good, obviously.''

Bo Pelini’s ultra-positive postgame locker room comments were "warranted" following Nebraska’s 45-31 loss, Osborne said, "because we really aren’t that far off from being able to compete (for a national title). I don’t want to get fans overly optimistic to the point where they just assume we’re already there. We’re not, but I think Bo has every right to think we’re in a good position."

Husker Dan makes an interesting point about the revolving door for defensive coaches the last couple of years, the price of our good defense in 2009 and 2010.

Unless Sean has ambitions for the NFL, I don't see the value of delaying med school.

Recruiting

Which is worse? This or Nebraska forgetting they want to pull Vandenburg's offer?

Women's Basketball

Great job, team! Hopefully we can show more support this Sunday as Nebraska takes on Penn State.

Nebrasketball

Nebraska's defense is awesome but they need to find an offense if they're going to win these games.

More expansion for the Big Ten? And Creighton in a national conference?

National News

Egads.

Meanwhile the rest of college football enjoys the spoils of the clashing of egos in South Bend.

For our baseball readers. And a reminder that this year's HOF ballot isn't that big of a deal. Want to know what's more disgusting than some silly baseball players not getting into a HOF? Tommie Frazier STILL isn't in the College Football HOF.

Tweeting Big Ten football coaches are not Big Ten coaches for long.

Tell your friends: we're allowed to get upset and be crazy about sports.

Kind of a metaphor for Nebraska's defense this year.

And finally, a video to start your day with:

This guy is now a coach in the Big Ten.

---

That's all for today folks. The thread is open all weekend so check in and say hello. And again, we've got Nebrasketball and women's basketball this SUNDAY starting at 1pm CT. See you then!
