Corn Nation Changes Name To FIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Welcome to the web site formerly known as "Corn Nation" which as of this moment will undergo a name change to "FiveNationalChampionships.com" in order to reflect the five national championships Nebraska won in football and to make it easier for visitors to understand that the site is about University of Nebraska sports, and not the genetic manipulation of corn.

Site manager Jon Johnston stated another reason for the name change - "so that we can annoy our opponents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year" as opposed to only the hours we're awake and online. When it was pointed out that they were close to the same thing, Johnston said that while close, "there's still that five or ten minutes per day when someone might not be as annoyed as they could have been. That and FIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!"

Noting that Nebraska would be second in football national championships only to Ohio State*, Johnston once again said "FIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!"

Oh, that and there are five days left to the start of Nebraska's 2012 football season!!! WOooohooo!!!!!!!

*Real national championships, as in after 1936, not retroactively awarded by Billingsley, a local newspaper in 1906 or your great great great great uncle Pete.
